I’ll admit that I didn’t even know what adjusting was. I thought that, just like in the commercials, you say out loud “Like a good neighbor, my insurance company is there!” And your insurance agent shows up and helps you. Of course they want you to be disillusioned and confused, they are an insurance company. The agent has nothing to do with the claim. In fact, they aren’t even allowed to discuss whether your claim is covered or not, that is the role of the adjuster. So within this relationship that I have with my insurance company, they keep the information insanely asymmetric, but only to their advantage.
